We will discuss and learn that biodiversity is used as a measurement of ecosystem health.  Students survey their campus and use this information to compare the effects of abiotic factors on biodiversity. We encourage students/teachers to expand on how biodiversity can influence humans directly and ask them to think about a school site project to start. We also refer to the EEI unit recommended to teach this standard which gives teachers preparatory reading and materials to continue with the lessons that fit in with their curriculum.  As a follow up to our session, we would like to either come back or check in on their progress.
